Look out Summer...here she comes!

Last Friday, I took Lucy to our YMCA's annual pool party. She loved it! Every square inch of the kiddie pool was covered in, well, kiddos :) But I think it's safe to say we'll be making many many more trips to the pool. This girl is a water baby!! (and a stylish one at that, ha!)

This week, I've been reminded of several things. On Monday, as I'm sure most everyone knows, Moore, OK was hit with a massive and horrific tornado. Tornadoes aren't new to the state of OK, but ones of this size and magnitude don't come around all that often. As I watch the news, my heart just breaks for these families who lost everything. I mean everything. People who woke up Monday morning having no idea what was about to take place. And the schools! All those precious children...as a parent, I cannot fathom. Then today, I read on facebook that some dear sweet friends who just moved recently from CO to WA, are at the hospital with their precious 7 month old daughter who is sick and undergoing surgery. They don't know what is wrong yet...while we are sad they are no longer here in Colorado, I believe this is a GOD thing!!! Her family is all up in that area and they have a wonderful support system and lots of prayer warriors! Love you guys, we are praying with full confindence that Reese is healed! I am reminded how precious life is. That truly, EACH and EVERY day is a gift from the Lord. Tell the people you love that you love them! Everyday. When I find myself thinking about my "to do" list, or having a self-pity party moment, I pray that I am immediately humbled and reminded it's not about me. I pray that I am constantly seeking ways to glorify God through everything I say and do. I pray that I am not so self absorbed that I'm able to recognize other people's/friend's needs. I pray that I choose joy everyday, and that I'm setting that example for Lucy. I pray that my heart is full of thanks when she is clingy and needy-how wonderful that my baby wants me to hold her in my arms. Life is gonna happen. There is just some ugly "stuff" that goes on sometimes. A lot of times, we don't know why. We don't understand...and I certainly don't want to ever pretend or act like I have the answers. Because I sure don't! But what I do know and take comfort in is the HOPE that our Jesus is and gives. HE has not forgotten or forsaken us. He is ever-present and ever-loving. Jesus, I pray that you would be glorified in the midst of times like this week when there just seems to be alot of darkenss. Show your power. Thank you God, that you are healer, and that you are greater, higher and stronger!
